This title was meant with some humor behind it. In my late twenties, with two young boys, I was given a booklet written by Norman Vincent Peale, entitled THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING. I found it to be very encouraging and it included Bible verses that were easy to memorize and provide comfort and strength. One of the verses was: Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
I think so many of us put a lot of effort into having the answers, or trying to find the answers, or calling someone to get the answers, and reality is we do NOT have all the answers. “Figuring it out” doesn’t happen. We are directed to TRUST the Lord with all of our heart…ALL of it. The rest of the verse reminds us NOT to lean into our own understanding. Quit the struggle! The “hows” are not up to you. Searching endlessly for ALL the answers, simply will not work. Give it up to the Lord. He loves you unconditionally and does not enjoy watching you struggle with trying to understand and have all the answers. He’s got them! Trust Him. Allow our Lord to provide for you, all you need to know and understand.
This might be a good time to remember the ASK, SEEK, KNOCK verse. Ask (Seek, Knock) for His answers and understanding. Don’t overwhelm yourself with anxiousness to find solutions. Trust the Lord and He will direct you. Peace, my friends. It is NOT all on your shoulders. TRUST!
