I’m a New Englander through and through. There’s nothing I liked more than the sight of an old white lighthouse perched along the cliffs of the sea. On many vacations we traveled along the coastline, seeking out each lighthouse. In the days that used to be, we’d climb those stairs to the top to enjoy a spectacular view. Each lighthouse had its own unique history, but always the same purpose – it saved the lives of seamen in the storms. The beams of the lighthouse guided ships through the storms and through the dark of night. When all seemed lost, the lighthouse was a beacon of hope.
I have a lighthouse, and so do you. Jesus is our lighthouse. He guides us by night and by day. He guides through life’s storms and through days of happiness. He is the most steadfast of all lighthouses, for he never fails. He reaches out to us at all times and in all ways. In John 8:12 Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” He is our beacon, he is our hope.
I hope you will enjoy this simple song about, Jesus, our lighthouse.
