Bookmarks and Blessings

Last year for my birthday a good friend gave me a bookmark that had a little poem by someone named Mia Evans on it.  It reads, “May you be blessed with All These Things, A little more JOY, a little less stress, a lot more recognition of YOUR WONDERFULNESS, abundance in your life, BLESSINGS in your days, DREAMS that come true and hopes that stay.  A RAINBOW on the horizon, and an ANGEL by your side, and everything that could ever bring a SMILE to your life.

The bookmark highlighted some words and I highlighted some.

JOY is everywhere if you look around.  From Sunday worship to something as simple as a pet who’s happy to see you when you walk in the door.  Look for the joy around you and be joyful yourself.

YOUR WONDERFULNESS.  You may not think you’re wonderful, but God does.  He thinks it every day, all the time.  Hold fast to that belief.

BLESSINGS.  We all have them.  I often fall asleep just counting the blessings of the day.

DREAMS.  Most of us seniors have seen many of our dreams already come true and that’s part of our blessings, but you’re never too old to have new dreams.

RAINBOWS.  They are beautiful to behold especially a double one.  They are a reminder of God’s love and promise to always be with us.

ANGELS by your side.  They are there.  I find as I need more help when I’m alone in public someone is always ready to help me. I think of them as angels or angel helpers and I often tell them they are my angel today.

SMILES.  Smile right now.  Why?  Because God loves you.  God loves you.  SMILE.
