The Balance Sheet of Life

In my readings, I ran into this little ode and I liked the analogy of our lives to perhaps our stock portfolio and worked it into my blog. The author is unknown.

Birth is our opening stock.

What comes to us is credit.

What goes from us is debit.

Our ideas are our assets.

Our bad habits are our liabilities.

Our happiness is our profit.

 Our sorrow is our loss.

Our soul is our goodwill.

Our heart is our fixed assets.

Our character is our capital.

Our knowledge is our investment.

Our age is our depreciation.

Death is our losing stock.

And finally: Always remember, God is our auditor.

He has complete control of our life. He provides us with sound advice for investing ourselves in  Him through thought, word and deed.  Because of His unconditional love of giving us His Son Jesus to die for our transgressions, we are blessed with the chance of eternal forgiveness if we repent and believe in God. For God so love the world that He gave is one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

What a wonderful gift we have received that provides us a chance of a wonderful balance sheet of life. Thanks be to God!
