Prophecies Fulfilled

Old Testament prophecies foretold the coming of the Messiah and His riding into Jerusalem on a donkey.  Imagine Jesus’ closest, His disciples, guarding and watching Him riding into Jerusalem, while throngs of people cheered and waved palms.  The palms covered his pathway and the crowds cheered Hosanna!  However, Jesus knew this was the “entry” into His “end.”  He knew some of these same cheering people would turn from Him within a few days.

Hosanna! Hosanna! Our Savior and King rides triumphantly before us.  We are provided the details of this magnificent parade of Holiness, in all four Gospels.  The disciples had witnessed so many miracles, and now on this day, many believers stood in awe with them.

The disciples had done what Jesus had asked of them, “Leave your families and positions and follow me.”  As they surveyed the crowds and probably shared their own enthusiasm, they had no way of knowing about the betrayal, crucifixion and death, soon to come for their Lord.

Stand in awe, shout Hosannas, Jesus is our King, the Messiah, our Savior and Lord. Hallelujah, you are loved unconditionally. Praises to our God and King. Holy Week has begun and we as believers, know the end of this story!
