I Come to be Mended

I come to Jesus at the beginning of this Holy Week.  I come just as I am.  I come to be mended.

I come remembering Jesus’ final week.  I remember Mary, Martha and Lazarus inviting Jesus to their home for dinner.  Oh Lord, I invite you to be present in my home as well.

I remember Mary’s extravagant gift to her Lord:  her most expensive perfume, a pound of costly pure nard, which she poured over Jesus’ feet.  Lord help me to be extravagant in my gifts to you.

I remember Mary’s humility, as she wiped your feet with her hair.  Lord, let me never be too proud to bow humbly to meet the needs of others.

I come just as I am.  I come to be mended.  I come to be your servant.

Judy

I invite you to listen to the simple but beautiful hymn, Just As I Am,  sung by the Choir Masters’ Association in Chenai, India.
