Years ago, I attended my husband’s nephew’s wedding in La Jolla, CA. It was beautiful and followed by the reception. Before I knew it, I was swept up into the circle dance of Hava Nagila (Let us rejoice). What fun it was celebrating!
Ecclesiastes 3:4…”a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.” Jeremiah 31:4 “I will build you up again, and you Virgin Israel will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.”
The song group of the 60’s and 70’s, Three Dog Night, made Celebrate popular. Its lyrics include multiple lines of “Celebrate, celebrate, dance to the music.”
There is an episode on THE CHOSEN (a new video series about the life of Christ), depicting His first miracle. Changing the water into wine occurred at a wedding of one of his friends and probably a Jewish circle dance was enjoyed by all attendees. In the video, the smiles emanating from those portrayed in the dancing circle were electric!
Singing, dancing and expressing joy will warm you from the inside out. Scripture encourages the celebrations to God, dancing and singing for joy. We are loved so unconditionally, we have that and so much more to express through the joy of dancing, singing, smiling, cheering, playing instruments. So many ways for us to celebrate and emit joy. Smile, laugh, share the Good News. Celebrate your love of God and His love for you. Dance to the music of His love.
