Do you ever stop and think of all the gifts in your life for which you should be thankful? Without the Lord, the most important aspects of your life would not be possible. You may have many personal possessions, but the problem with that is they are just “things” which in the big scheme of life, have no meaning.  While you are probably grateful for the items you possess, you can’t take any of those material belongings with you when you go to your heavenly rest. 

The real issues to be thankful for are those which lead you to your eternal home. This prayer sums up the items which are important.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for carrying the cross I could never carry.

By Your wounds I have been healed.

By Your sacrifice, I have been redeemed.

By Your love, I am forgiven.

By Your grace, I have been saved.

By Your guidance, I have been found.

In Your mercy, I find strength.

In Your light, I find clarity.

In Your word, I find the way.

 I love you, Jesus.

All the glory be to You, my Lord, my King, my eternal love.

Thank you, God for your unconditional love for us through Your Son’s sacrifice so we have the choice to believe in You and ask for the forgiveness of our sins. This is the gift for which we should give thanks…the gift of eternal life.  Thanks be to God!
