Nothing to Eat or Drink after Midnight

The saga of the minor surgery continues. You know pre-surgery instructions are emailed, and/or printed out and discussed by your physician. Important to remember, you will have had anesthesia, so you must have a driver to take you home after the surgery AND nothing to eat or drink after midnight. Securing hubby to be the driver – check. Watching my intake and the clock – check.  Was I nervous or concerned? No, I honestly had His peace that passes all understanding. Before drifting off to sleep the night before I was to have this procedure, I was imagining my favorite song lyrics…. Peace be Still and know that I am God. (Christian rock group, Rush of Fools).

Next morning, fully awake and getting ready, I stopped to read one of my morning devotionals: Third sentence: “Be Still and know that I am God.”  Now I was smiling with full assurance of yet again, another “touch” of my Lord. Next paragraph started with “I am always with you, so you have no reason to be afraid.” Whew!  There He was again in the form of more words of comfort. No wonder I felt such peace….it was all around me! More gifts of His unconditional love.

How did everything go? Awesome! Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Believe and have faith, even a mustard seed size of faith can move mountains. Procedures, surgeries will differ, physicians will differ, outcomes will differ, length of time and difficulties will differ, but our Heavenly Father never DIFFERS.  He is the same yesterday, today and always… never leaving us or forsaking us. Amen. So blessed!
