Buzzing Pests

Bzzzzzzzz. Swat, swish, ah, those pesky pests that flit against our feet or worse yet, into our faces.
Have you ever had a nagging buzz from within? A pesky pest of a thought. A tingling nudge that wouldn’t stop.

I know I have asked God to just sky write His requests of me or perhaps light up the sky with an answer to my pleas. Make it easy for me, just show me in neon lights. Alas, He has not s-p-e-l-l-e-d out His replies, but He has definitely buzzed from deep within my soul.

A pest? An annoyance? Yes, truthfully sometimes I am dragging my fly swatter behind me, not willing to get in the game, so He continues to buzz me. One of my favorite verses is “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Reminding myself to be still, listen to the nudge, the flitting thought, the encouragement to go, to pray, to help, to care becomes real clear. God loves me unconditionally so He will not stop buzzing into my heart and mind. He wants me to do His will. He does not want to be swatted away, quieted, and stopped. The Holy Spirit within us wants to buzz, tingle, stir us to action. Present us with answers. Guide us to be His servants.

As a follower of Christ, we are called upon to share His love, to share His teachings, to share His truth. Pesticides be gone. Excuses become mute. Feel the Christ within, Emmanuel. Listen to the buzz. You are being led by our God who loves you unconditionally!
