We Need Help

The other day I was hanging out with a friend. This friend is a Christian, but she doesn’t always act, speak or think like one. Some days, she is completely in-line with God’s path and some days, her life is a struggle that gets the best of her. As our eyes meet, I really wanted to say something about it, but I decided to let the Lord speak to her heart, knowing nothing I say will have the same impact as the Father’s words.

So…I prayed with her and after some time had passed, I winked at her, she winked back and I walked away from the mirror.

I try every day and I fail every day. I am so not perfect but I am a work in progress. I’m thankful for God’s grace and His promises to His believers. I am that girl. She is me.

This was a message a friend sent me on Facebook. I felt this message personally and I’m sure many of you did too. It seems to apply to all of us. We would like to be perfect but none of us ever will. We are human beings with a sinful nature. We need to continue to do our best and follow God’s word.

Psalm 124:7-8 We have escaped like a bird from the hunter’s trap. The trap has been broken and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

Let’s come to the Lord with a heart full of love and gratitude. Let’s thank Him for His endless kindness, His unwavering compassion and His unconditional love. Thanks be to God!
