Resting in Him

Being able to go to my “happy place,” is relatively easy for me.  I’ve had significant times where it was necessary to just let my mind go to another “place,” and feel His peace and comfort. On a cruise, a friend invited me to share a spa visit.  She just loved the “hot beds,” in the spa.  Well, I had never done this before, so there I was in a cuddly terry cloth robe, resting on a curved, hard lounger with heated tiles.  Soft music was playing and I decided it was a perfect time for a “peace-filled moment.” I closed my eyes and let my prayers and thoughts of God begin. Suddenly, there was a snort. My eyes fluttered when I realized that was me, snoring!  What?!? People in the spa area were snickering. LOL Fast forward to my recommendations for you, even if you doze off, it’s ok. Your peaceful moments with God are Spirit-filling for certain.

I Peter 5:6-7 “If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in his good time he will lift you up.  Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.”

We are loved unconditionally, always and forever. Humble yourself. Empty your head of “stuff” and focus on Him. Find the “happy place” in your mind. Allow our Lord to receive your worries and calm your spirit.  ( PS  Try not to snore.)
