Let’s be honest. Have you ever felt unloved, perhaps unimportant, or even insecure? With the bumpy, twisted road of life, I think these feelings have bumped into you at different times. The Message version of the Bible, Ephesians 2:19-22 states, “That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.”
Whoosh! Those feelings of being unloved, unimportant or insecure should have just flown out of the window. Are you serious? God is using US? How awesome! We are built into his Holy Temple. The very temple the disciples were the foundation of and Christ was the cornerstone. I am so unconditionally loved, I am so important in the building, and my security comes from my God. See my heart smile! Amazing gift from God, He is using me…and YOU! Lift your head, you are a child of our most High God. Amen! Hallelujah! Let the building continue! Reread the verse…YOU are important to God.
Accept the truth that God is forming and shaping you and dwells within you, so YOU are part of His temple. The last phrase of the scripture noted above states: “…a temple in which God is quite at home.” Please, Lord make me worthy. I am truly loved, important and secure! Amen!
