Who is my neighbor?

One of my favorite lessons that Jesus has given us is the parable of the good Samaritan I Luke 10:26
– 37. If you remember the story, a traveler was beaten, robbed and left for dead on the side of the road. A priest passed by but avoided the traveler by passing on the other side. A Levite also avoided involvement by passing on the other side. Then came a Samaritan and he not only tended to his wounds but provided funds for the traveler’s further care. I have often asked myself which one of the traveler’s would have been me? Jesus then asks which one of these passers-by was a neighbor to the traveler? The answer was the one who helped. Jesus then says “Go and do likewise.” I pray for the strength to do as the Samaritan did! Let us all strive to treat our neighbors as the Samaritan did. Read Luke 10:26-37, and remember: God loves you unconditionally!
