As a New Year Approaches . . .

Having lived through many New Years since 1952, I’ve seen crises, famines, wars, rumors of war, earthquakes, and hurricanes. There were vast changes from the Cold War era until now. Through it all, I realize that what was prophesied in scripture by the great prophets of old, and indeed by Jesus himself, has stood the test of time.

We make countless resolutions every year. We’ll lose weight; we’ll exercise regularly; we’ll be more loving; we’ll stop smoking, drinking etc.

Since we know that God loves us unconditionally, why not resolve this year to delve more into His sacred words. Let’s resolve to practice His message to love our neighbors as ourselves. Let’s resolve to offer our lives back to Him who gave His all for us, who established His kingdom in our hearts. We know that He may come again at any time. Let us resolve to live our faith as if He will appear this very day to establish the new heaven and new earth, as foretold in scripture.

The years come and go. As believers, our job is to be faithful to a His teachings 365 days a year until He returns.  AMEN?

Remember a God Loves You Unconditionally.

Matthew 20:25-28 (NIV)
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.  Not so with you.  Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
