I was not always a fan of Star Trek, but know this phrase as it became a cultural phrase of the time.
There are many theories regarding our universe, the planets, other life forms, galaxies and infinity. To be honest, my interest doesn’t really extend to space and the myriad of questions that follow that exploration.
Though I did watch with interest a 60 Minutes episode regarding satellites and the ability they have of sending back photos of daily changes to the earth and all its complexities.
Rather than asking God to “Beam me up,” to explore other dimensions, I find myself asking Him to light the way within me.
Have you ever felt the power of God so strong it was like an LED light filling every quadrant of your being? Perhaps, instead, you felt a tiny wisp of light just nestled within your soul, a mere flicker of hope and strength.
God’s creation is so big, so inexplicable, so fascinating, yet has the power to fill you from within with the tiniest bit of His omnipotent light. Whether you are exploring the universe, glued to your telescope, researching the mighty world that surrounds you, OR, delving into His word, igniting the world within, stop and search for the Light.
The Power of Light: A star (light) guided the Magi. A flame (light) led the Israelites out of Egypt. A flame burned the bush for Moses (it did not consume the bush). Flames of fire (light) did not consume Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
God will breathe His wisp of light within or beam the mighty strength of His light to have you know His presence and power in your life. Allow Him to “beam you up” to His love, forgiveness and grace. God is the Light of your very soul. He loves you unconditionally.
