Customer Service

I dial the 800 number and groan with frustration as I hear the dreaded recording:
“You have reached XYZ Company. For account information, please press 1. For billing questions, please press 2. For customer service, please press 3.”

I press 3 and wait. . . And wait. . . And wait. . .

A recording comes on that says, “We value your business. Please remain on the line until a customer service representative is available. The average wait time is 12 minutes.”

And I wait. . . And wait. . . And wait. . .

And the line goes dead. I am disconnected.

Heavenly Father, there are many messages here for me. The obvious one is, learn to be patient.

The less obvious one might be to use this time for prayer. (Please God, give me patience!?)

Even less obvious is the fact that you, Holy God, provide the utmost customer service to me 24/7. I don’t need to press “3.” I don’t need to “hold”, and you never disconnect me.

My God is an awesome God.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
