Growing up in small town, America, our town had a community pool.  For me, that is where each summer day was spent.  I would ride my bike there, change into my bathing suit and swim, play with friends and bask in the sun.  Baby oil, Coppertone lotion, iodine, we all tried anything that would help us to get a summer tan. Sun, glorious sun!

        Have you ever spent time in a museum studying pictures of Mary, the saints, the disciples, Jesus and noted the light the artist carefully uses to highlight their glow of Him within them?

        We can bask in the Lord. From baptism, we know the Holy Spirit lives within us.  If we cling to that inner peace, love and joy, His love will radiate from us.  Others will see “the light” and be drawn to it.  This is a perfect opportunity to share His love, grace and mercy.  Let others know the SON is your sun and you know His warmth personally.

        No tanning lotions needed, no iodine to tint your skin.  Christ died for you, for your sins and by His wounds you are healed!  Being a child of God, who is loved by Him unconditionally, you have the rays of His spirit abiding in you.  Your skin will tingle at the mention of His holy name.  His presence will never leave you. 

        Allow our largest star, the sun, to remind you daily as it rises in the east that He has given you this new day.  Today is the day that the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it!  Smile and allow the SON within you, your source for LIFE, to shine as a beacon to others.
