Philippians 4:7   “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

A pastor once used this verse and “added”…peace…surpasses all HUMAN understanding.

        That resonated with me.  What kind of peace, calm, tranquility, serenity can pour like an anointing oil over you and completely be beyond your HUMAN understanding?  Memes, tik tok, Instagram, quick snapchat videos sometimes show someone with a hand to both sides of your head, opening the hands out demonstrating, “mind blowing!”  I love these.  Something so outlandish, so amazing, so powerful, you feel like a huge WOW moment occurred.

        According to Biblical references this verse from Philippians clearly means, knowing that no matter what life tosses your way, we can still have joy when we know that our victory lies in Jesus Christ and not in our circumstances. That kind of peace or serenity is knowing that your God, who loves you unconditionally, is sitting by your side and you are able to rest in that knowledge.

        Wikipedia defines BALM as a fragrant ointment or preparation used to heal or soothe the skin. Can you imagine that feeling, so comforting and warm? Knowing our Lord and keeping our focus and intentions aligned with Him will give us the peace that passes all HUMAN understanding.

        May you tuck this truth into your heart and allow yourself to receive a mind-blowing-inexplicable-WOW experience of His peace pouring over you like a balm.
