On a recent night walk with our sweet dog, I couldn’t help but notice the dark night sky. Having said that, it really was dark, but there shown Venus and a full moon, the only lights. Stunning. I should have taken a photo. Fast forward to a dropped screw. Of course, it rolled out of the way, under and behind the TV console, so the overhead light was not allowing us to find it. The back area of the console was NOT full of dust bunnies, haha, honest, but there was no light. Grabbing a small flashlight and voila, that little sliver of light was suddenly like football stadium lighting. The dropped screw was found. A visit to the eye doctor had me sitting on a stool, inched up to an eye machine. Chin down on its own little ledge, eye looking into total black darkness and then within seconds, a pinhole of light.
Psalm 36:7-9 How exquisite your love, O God! How eager we are to run under your wings. To eat our fill at the banquet you spread as you fill our tankards with Eden spring water. You’re a fountain of cascading light, and you open our eyes to light.
God is so good! God is love! This psalm reminds us that we can find solace under His wings. He is a “fountain of cascading light.” What a blessing to seek our Heavenly Father and His unconditional love and find ourselves bathed in His Light. No dark places, simply a place to repent of our sins, bathe in comfort, find solace in His grace and mercy and “open our eyes to His light.”
Even a mere sliver will fill your soul!
