Did you ever receive a letter like that from your insurance company? Just when I thought it was about time to pick up my prescription, the letter arrived announcing “Your request has been denied.” Of course, it took about six sheets of paper and lots of bold print to make this point. But it left me stunned. This was a standard request! They are absolutely wrong! You can add a few more negative comments and you will probably be right. (Just to be fair, the situation was eventually resolved.)
Oh Lord, my ever-loving God, how grateful I am that you do not respond to my requests in that manner. Your reply is always gracious. You speak like the loving Father that you are to a daughter who is cherished. You answer me with kindness, whether it is a yes, or an “I’ve got a better idea” reply that asks me to wait for your good time.
Thanks be to you oh God! You listen to your children praying. You send us love; you send us power; you send us grace. Hope you enjoy the following hymn “Lord Listen to Your Children Praying” written by Ken Medema in 1973.
