Cereal used to come with a surprise inside the box.  Cracker Jack snacks had a toy or surprise inside, sometimes even a tattoo to rub on your arm.

While enjoying some sesame chicken, I noticed a fortune cookie, of course, I broke it open for the surprise fortune inside…and it said, “The fortune you seek is already within you.” My mind started swirling. This fortune was speaking a truth to me.  I have “inside” me, the Holy Spirit. How very fortunate am I! The gift from God of the Holy Spirit dwelling in me is all I need. The richness.  The treasure.  The comfort.  The “never alone” feeling of His presence within. I certainly did not need a fortune cookie to remind me, but instead found myself smiling ear to ear.  I was not smiling because the sesame chicken was so yummy, I was smiling because yet again, a reminder of God “popped” right in front of me. 

He loves us so unconditionally.  He never leaves us.  He comforts us.  He forgives us.  He makes Himself known as He leads us through life. If you are not “aware” of Him, delve into His Holy Word and learn about Him.  If you are fully “aware” of Him, then share that wonderful gift with others. Remember all around you are reminders of His love and grace and forgiveness, even in a fortune cookie, you can find a reminder. Be blessed.  Share the Good News.
