Have you heard that expression, “That was a piece of cake?” Do you think that applies to your life? Has your life, up to this point, been easy as a so called, piece of cake? Easy? Smooth sailing? No bumps in your rode of life? I have not yet met anyone who makes that claim. A verse from the New Testament got me wondering. Romans 5:3-5 “There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! “
I just love that the Bible has THE ANSWERS. All the troubles, woes, and worries are our building blocks. With our Triune God, the magnificently Holy three in one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit we are NEVER alone. How unconditionally loved are we! We are being built up, toughened to handle the world around us, strengthened to endure our worries and woes, and humble enough to accept God’s gracious love. Jesus died for ALL of our sins and forgives us ALL of our shortcomings. Watch us grow in Him. While you are being patient and alert to whatever God’s plan is for you and trusting our Lord, go ahead, have a piece of cake!
