An Unexpected Visitor

I had a frog visitor last night. I was glad that I had turned on the light before I entered the room, or I might have had a heart attack as I stepped on it. How did it get there?

At first, I thought that it was a big blob of mud and that had me asking the same question-how did that get there? I was a little groggy as I had just awakened out of a sound sleep. Upon closer and careful examination, I determined that it was, indeed, a little green frog. And it just sat there on the floor and didn’t move a muscle.

I began to think that it was dead, however as I watched closely, it moved subtly into a different position and raised its head to scout out the environment. It was a hostile environment; all cold tiles and nothing to eat or any place to take cover. But the frog maintained his position and stayed in that spot until we carefully transferred him to the yard.

My question remained, “How did it get there?” The house is generally closed to the outdoors except when we open and close the doors. Did it sneak in the back door when I was clearing the patio? Was it seeking shelter from the storm that caused so much anxiety today?

I can only spend so much time pondering this unanswerable question. As I often do, I began to marvel at another of God’s unique creations with abilities that I can only admire and not understand. How did He design the frog; why did He design the frog? These are questions for eternity.

Today, in the light of the sun and the frog back in the yard, I am content to praise God for the frog and to thank God for getting me to turn on the light as I entered the room. Our God is amazing and continually enchanting us with His creations. Each of which, He loves unconditionally that includes you.
