It’s Beach Day

I’ve lived in Florida for over 50 years.  Flat, green Florida has a treasure of beaches.  Beaches along the panhandle, calm, shell-filled beaches along the Gulf Coast, turquoise waters surrounding the Keys and waves galore (even some surf worthy waves) on the Atlantic Coast.

Beach day was and still is a favorite of mine. Towels, sunscreen, plenty of water, lip balm, chairs, umbrella…let the day of sun and fun begin. Floating aimlessly in the gulf and then collecting shells, or body surfing into the shore while being tumbled by waves on the Atlantic side, was I experiencing a taste of heaven? Jesus told His disciples He was leaving to prepare a place for them…can you fathom the richness and glory of heaven?

I recall the mountain views from the Appalachian Trail, or the rocky creeks I have wandered through and across during my growing up years, my beach day getaways simply basking in a warm sun while watching the magnificence of the mighty ocean, BUT can I comprehend all God has prepared for me?

The Garden of Eden was said to be a place of rest and beauty. The 7 or 8 Wonders of the World are written about as if their very uniqueness moves viewers to pure awe! Do you wonder about Heaven and your eternal life with God?  Scriptures remind us the road is narrow to Heaven.  Do you lean solely on God to lead and guide you?  Do you study His Word? Do you strive to live according to His will? Do you believe there is no way to the Father except through His Son?

I do not burden myself with the details of how heaven will be, but I don’t want to miss one second of it. Will it be beach day 24/7, not likely….BUT definitely something even better!  Will it be family reunion time? I’m not sure I will “see” God right away, as my friend says when she arrives, she will be taking up a lot of God’s time, with her list of questions. LOL What I do know is Jesus will welcome you as a believer whom He has loved unconditionally. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
