Ok, I’m going to be transparent….I may not be the best caretaker. Of course, as a mother you quickly become a caretaker. Looking back, I believe I did just fine. Ah, to be young again! Then, for my young husband I was again a caretaker and know until his last breath, I did everything you could possibly do. Both of my parents, later in life came to live with the boys and me and I again, I saw them to their end of time.
Fast forward, now that I am REALLY an antique, when this hubby ended up in the hospital, I think some of my “get up and go” …”got up and went!” We had excellent care at both hospitals, but after visiting for 10-12 hours, I was beyond exhausted. Yep, the caretaker in me, was just plain tuckered out!
Isaiah 46:4 “I will be your God through all your lifetime, yes, even when your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and be your Savior.” My God is EVERYTHING! How blessed am I to have a caretaker that never has questions or queries about what to do next to provide care. He never gets tired. He never has to call for a second opinion. He never has to make appointments and follow ups! Our God is an awesome God. Here is a suggestion, allow Him to be YOUR caretaker. Bring Him into your daily life. Trust Him. He loves you unconditionally and another bonus…He doesn’t work shifts. He is with you ALWAYS!
