Weeds

I’m not referring to “weed,” that some smoke, or chew as gummies….nope, I am actually referring to the annoying weeds that grow in your yard and in your vegetable patch.  It’s amazing that the weeds starting to pop up now are so beautifully green, healthy looking and plentiful! That being said, many weeds are simply an intrusion or scene stealer, or bothersome. (I know some weeds are used for medicinal purposes, but certainly not most of them.) We’ve had “extra” cold days this winter season and though plants were covered or brought inside, the plants look a little puny and many have died. The plants, like us, need tended to.  They need nourishment. They need fortified with water and care. The weeds seem to have thrived with no help.

We can look at other folks and see something in them we think is just wonderful, only to find out their character is severely flawed. Some can show themselves as smiling friends, but deceit is their ploy. As a Christian, we have the best resource, Jesus. He can help us tweak and adjust our flaws. He can give us His grace and strength. We can grow strong and improve our hearts and souls with Him as our gardener.  He loves us unconditionally. We, like our plants, are nourished, forgiven, pruned and cared for by our loving Father. If “weeds” are around you, distance yourself and seek the SON and be fed by His words. The nourishment you seek, will have your spirit growing and beaming with His beauty.

John 15: 5-6 “I am the Vine; you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. “
